The meetings of the 2017 Mediterranean Climate Hub or MEDCOP took place at the Maison Méditerranéene du Climat in Tangiers, Morocco, on 15 & 16 December 2017. They brought together institutional, academic and entrepreneurial stakeholders from around the Mediterranean basin to present advances in terms of innovation in the fight against Climate Change and the areas of work for a better understanding of the territories at the regional level for adaptation and the mitigation.

Mme Vesperini from REACT partner IEMSR was invited to present its solutions regarding training following 3 themes: awareness raising, initial training on the subject and lifelong learning. Mme Vesperini in particular introduced capacity-building initiatives in the context of the REACT project and shared the plans for WP4 Capacity Building, including the Training Plan and structures of Training of Trainers modules and Internal and National replications. She stressed that the problems faced by developing countries with regards to Climate Change were common to all developing countries, whether they are from the Maghreb or Southeast Asia, and highlighted the essential role of the European Union in providing assistance to try to solve them.
